In 2011 I received the go ahead to carve a twice life size torso of 5 times Olympian, 8 world records and 6 times world swimming champion, Mark Foster: as an invited guest artist for ART AT THE EDGE. The finished Sculpture will be permanently placed in the world heritage City of Bath. We will be unveiling the sculpture on the 22nd May 2012 to coincide with the Olympic Flame coming to light the way to the London 2012 Games.
Bath City College has become involved with this exciting project with Nigel Bryant and Paul Maggs heading up the stone Masons and Conservation department, collaborating with Art at the Edge to create the huge plinth needed for this sculpture.
While in the process of carving this immense block, many guests have visited my open Studio to see the work in progress. My thanks to all those who signed my visitor book and all their support. This project has given me so many great moments with the chance to open up my practice to so many of you from all over the world and I look forward to seeing some of you on the 22nd May.
