Patch The Magic Dragon is coming to Manor Wildlife Park June 27th - July 3rd
Patch The Magic Dragon Begins 27th June
This exciting project will be created as part of the Eisteddfod which is celebrating it's 850th anniversary. It's theme this year is decorating. We are inviting the public to get involved with us at Manor Wildlife Park to come and join us and paint a patch to add to our magical Dragon. Starts 27th June at Manor Wildlife Park and runs for 1 week. See below for more details and follow the links.
This is an Arts & Business Cymru linked project.
ART Workshops will be run through-out the week starting on Saturday the 27th June with our last day being Friday the 3rd July.
Times: 11 - 1pm and 1.30 - 3.30pm Please contact Manor Wildlife Park for bookings. Click on this link. We will each be painting a patch and slowly, over the week we will all help to make the Dragon come to life.
The body of the dragon will be made up from willow sticks with recycled plastic bottles, the video below shows how these will become the ribs of the Dragon. They will then be clad in more willow and all your amazing patches. We will be making some small willow woven patches to add to the textures.
Once the Dragon is completed it will be placed on the grass verge on the roadside entrance to the Wildlife park and will remain there for the summer so all your art work contributions will be on display for all those passing by each day. It will then become a feature within the Park for the rest of this year.
This project will involve a full week of art workshops for all ages to come and get creative. We will be making 'Patch' out of our recycled materials including any old canvas paintings which we will dismantle and reuse for our own A4 sized painted artwork scales. These will all help to give Patch that Magical look. Please contact Manor Wildlife Park to see how you can get involved. Drop off your WASHED CLEAN recycled plastic bottles and any old canvass paintings to Manor Wildlife Park NOW! Thank you, see you there!
